You may rely on Baili's destiny
A small orphan boy may be entrusted to you
The time of meeting is approaching, do not arrive late
Laughter and shouting
Gathering in a place which is not your home
Everyone happy, healthy and in harmony.
"You may rely on Baili's destiny" is about the wife of Baili Xin.
"A small orphan boy may be entrusted to you" about the play 'The Orphan of Zhao'.
"The time of meeting is approaching, do not arrive late" about the friend of Yu Boya.
The last three lines of the poem are about the value of these three plays. They may be loaded with drama, but their purpose is to bring everyone a great time.
In poem 181 (and in Lingqijing 141) is the expression 'one who knows the songs': an intimate or understanding friend. The origin of this expression is the story of Yu Boya and his friend Zhong Ziqi.
