Hexagram Mirrors - Line Reflections
(line pathways)

Mirror group 37.1-53.1-38.6-54.6

About discerning danger and to protect

37.1 yang: To barricade one's home. Regrets disappear.
Keep your home and your people safe.

53.1 yin: The wild geese gradually approach the riverbank. The young goslings are in danger. There is talk. Without fault.
Keep your life and your people safe.

Lines 37.1 and 53.1 are each others fanyao, like views on the same landscape but from a different side, Fire-Mountain and vv. Asking for different actions.
Stay safe, be aware of danger

38.6 yang: Squinting and alone. Seeing a pig with mud on its back, a cart loaded with ghosts. At first drawing the bow, later relaxing the bow. No bandit, a marital suitor. Proceeding encountering rain: as a rule auspicious.
What seems bad is not neccessarily so.

54.6 yin: The maiden receives a basket without substance; the young man stabs a sheep without blood. No ground for fruitfulness.
What seems good is not neccessarily so.

Lines 38.6 and 54.6 are each others fanyao, like views on the same landscape but from a different side, Fire-Thunder and vv. Asking for different actions.
See things for what they are, not what they seem

Lines 37.1 and 38.6 and also 53.1 and 54.6 are each others qianyao (upside-down). Here are similar actions but in different landscapes (complementary contexts).
What was up, outside or mental, is now down, inside or physical.

Mirror groups 37.1-53.1 and 39.6-53.6 are contrasts
(all yang lines of Mirror 37.1 are yin lines in Mirror 39.6 and vv)
Mirror 37.1 is about discerning danger and to protect
Mirror 39.6 is about making the best of any situation
