Hexagram Mirrors - Line Reflections
(line pathways)

Mirror group 17.6-25.6-18.1-26.1

About your situation deciding your direction

17.6 yin: Embracing it and relating to it. Therefore following it and netting it. The king offers a Heng-sacrifice at the Western Mountain.
Connect with what you want or love. The openness and exchange of Lake.

25.6 yang: Innocent moving brings disaster. No ground for fruitfulness.
Don't act without reckoning with danger. The punishing severity of Heaven.

Lines 17.6 and 25.6 are each others fanyao, like views on the same landscape but from a different side, Lake-Heaven and vv. Asking for different (complementary) actions. Following what you know is right versus not following blindly.

18.1 yin: Stem-father's decay. There is a son. The deceased father is without fault. Danger. Completion is auspicious.
Some things you have to do, decided by fate. The seal of Wind. ('Seal' see below)

26.1 yang: There is danger. Fruitful to stop.
Some things you should not do. The severe laws of Heaven.

Lines 18.1 and 26.1 are each others fanyao, like views on the same landscape but from a different side, Wind-Heaven and vv. Asking for different (complementary) actions. Decided by fate or decided by universal rules.

Lines 17.6 and 18.1 and also 25.6 and 26.1 are each others qianyao (upside-down). Here are similar actions but in different landscapes (complementary contexts).
What was up, outside or mental, is now down, inside or physical.
In 17.6-18.1 what you want to do versus what you have to do.
25.6-26.1 not falling into danger versus stopping for danger.

Mirror groups 17.1 and 17.6 are contrasts
(all yang lines of Mirror 17.1-45.1 are yin lines in Mirror 17.6-25.6 and vv)
Mirror 17.6-25.6 is about your situation deciding your direction
Mirror 17.1-45.1 is about your next step deciding your direction

  Notes:
18.1 seal: Wind, insinuate, being elected, a choice which is not one's own.
