An English translation by Mai-mai Sze of the work, "The Tao of Painting - A study of the ritual disposition of Chinese painting", with a translation of the Chieh Tzu Yuan Hua Chuan or Mustard Seed Garden Manual of Painting, published in New York in 1956.

The Mustard Seed Garden Manual of Painting was made by three brothers during the last quarter of the 17^th century.

The copy above is a 1997 facsimile of the 1887-1888 Shanghai edition by Mai-Mai Sze
