313 Plowing and harvesting

闢土開疆;

The plowing oxen bend over in the crossbar,
Opening up the earth and expanding the borders,
Sit down and think of the harvest to be brought in,
The broomcorn millet which grows in the paddy.

314 Warrior

At the hip the ornamental sword,
Walking into the hall of the imperial palace,
Subvert and guard the Three Mountains,
Thousand maces and hundred chains.

315 Entering the world

出谷遷喬;

A fledging able to fly high,
Moves into a new residence;
A flood dragon's spirit, tooth and claw,
Transforms into an island in the sea.

316 Good attracts good, bad attracts bad

尋常一樣窗前月;

Incredibly auspicious,
Usually the same as in the preceding month;
Terribly inauspicious,
Getting the plum blossom you want is in that case not the same,
Wearing a smile to the eastern wind,
Human feelings are not strong like in the old days.

317 The cauldron

宜水相濟;

Fire like a scorching calamity up to heaven,
Water is the right remedy;
The precious cauldron becomes red,
It is overwhelming.

318 Securing the boat

未把孤舟繫;

One strip of cable,
Cannot alone bind the boat;
A sudden cut of a metal knife,
Makes the tie fall to the ground prematurely.

319 Limited time

Within twelve hours,
You urgently refine the text.
A bit delay during a short time,
And you get no foothold anywhere.

320 Tricks of the trade

A wind from the southwest is rising,
A red sunset on that same day.
Clever at the magic of making things invisible,
Able to guard with one hand.

321 When the light is dim

一月正當空;

All around silence reigns supreme,
The moon is high above in space;
Suddenly the clouds cover it,
The moonlight becomes dim.

322 Think about it

卻在天邊等;

One intimate friend,
But he waits at the end of the world;
Be sure not to procrastinate,
The silence of the night is a good time to think about it.

323 Looks are important

礪齒咬牙;

A pack of dogs assembles,
Sharpening and gnashing their teeth;
They assume an air of complacency,
Concerned only with guarding the house.

324 Lasting love

Wife in front and husband behind they walk together,
For this good occasion the omen is clear,
A gentleman in love must always remember,
Not to forget his heart after ten years of a kind relationship.

325 Just once

A rat hides in a hole,
It shows its head once,
The cat which was tailing it,
Stretches and threatens and bares its claws,
The rat loses it's life.

326 Fantasy

In books there are women with faces like jade,
In books there are surely golden houses,
Having read five carts of books,
Your wishes can be fulfilled,
Why is your heart worried and beat when busy?

327 Everything can renew

乘龍福自臻;

A leopard change as a result of writing beauty,
Riding a dragon he attains blessings himself;
Poverty turns into wealth and honor,
Everything can be renewed!

  A leopard change: from rags to riches.
  Riding a dragon, traditional meaning: finding a distinguished husband for one's daughter.
  Poverty, lit. nakedness.
  This verse is identical to LingQiJing verse 232:
  Changing, the leopard completes its dazzling markings,
  Riding dragons, blessings arrive of themselves.
  Stark naked, one receives riches and honor;
  Every affair can again be renewed.

328 One man many women

A yang alone is slight,
A group of yin is overflowing,
The strength is already exhausted,
No way to grow old in the future,
Be really cautious,
It is good to preserve.

  Yang can also mean a man, yin can also mean a woman.

329 Free beauty

The rain at dawn clears up and the small stream shines jade,
Layer upon layer of spring scenery at the gate of branches.
Gold is endless for the prosperous family.
Why should I envy brocade clothes?

  Gate of branches: poor family.

330 Morals of the time

人情每用嗟;

The morals of the time are strewn with thistles and thorns,
People are moaning about all of it;
The benefit of a good name opens roads,
Pursue a career by working hard.

  The morals of the time: the era's dao.

331 Envy

Lost on a bad mountain road which twists around,
The rushing waters bring a crossing boat in trouble,
Nothing at all is going strong.
The source of this is jealousy.

332 A lantern wick

The time of now has many disasters,
With fear and trepidation.
On guard and apprehensive,
Filled with fear and dread.
Treading carefully as if walking on thin ice,
Waiting to recognize the journey ahead, dangerous and hazardous,
A chest of wind inside, a lantern wick.

  (as if a draft blows through a lantern)

333 A gorgeous flower branch

清香馥郁透蘭房;

A gorgeous flower branch with a delicious scent,
The delicate fragrance pervades the elegant room;
When a timely wind happens it will bring laughter,
Good poetry before the feast and think of how many wine cups.

  a flower branch can also mean a beautiful woman.
  Laughter: the ideogram is bamboos rocked by the wind.

334 Follow the dragon

Since you maintain yourself and guard your decisions,
Your achievements are ahead of everybody,
On your own there is extraordinary happiness,
Follow the dragon to the highest heaven.

  Highest heaven: ninth heaven.

335 An arduous journey

而今始得過灘頭;

A long, arduous journey across a rough sea in a boat like a leaf,
Now starts the achievement of passing the beach head;
After a year of anxiousness only then accomplishments,
In the past counting on one's fingers how many worries one can have.

336 Guarding prosperousness

守之乃昌;

Receiving a salary of the sovereign,
For a long time auspiciousness descends,
Profit without overbalance,
Guard this prosperousness;
Without laziness nor pride,
Remain forever relaxed and peaceful.

  Relaxed and peaceful or: in good health.
